NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 21, 2022–
Duration of Talkspace, a leading provider of self-guided therapy apps, today announced a new app that helps parents become more confident in their parenting approach. The app, called Lasting Parenting Guide, comes at a time when parents are under unprecedented stress. A recent study from the American Psychological Association revealed that more than 70% of parents are concerned about the social, academic and emotional development of their children. With The Guide to Sustainable Parenting, parents and caregivers can access a host of resources that can help them raise healthy, resilient children.
“Parents today have an incredibly tough job to do,” said Steven Dziedzic, Founder and SVP of Talkspace’s Lasting. “Before, raising children was the business of a whole community, and now many parents are doing everything on their own. By listening to our clients, we have learned that American families need the most help with parenting issues such as anxiety, sibling conflict, and emotional coaching. So we created an app that applies proven psychological approaches to help them. ”
In beta testing, Lasting’s parenting program was followed by more than 4,000 families, 79% of whom said it helped them parent more effectively. The Lasting Parenting Guide builds on the success of this program and expands it with a dedicated app that includes:
● Over 100 self-guided sessions, which are a proven mix of psychoeducation, reflections, exercises and journaling
● 2 live classes each week, guided by licensed therapists, including anonymous group Q&A and personalized follow-ups
● Over 30 mental health prompts designed to help parents practice self-care and emotional regulation
● Robust features for parenting partners, including collaborative Q&A that compares parent responses in the app and invites conversation about parenting approaches
● Sessions on a wide variety of parenting topics including: attachment, self-awareness, discipline, child anxiety, whining and complaining, getting children to listen, child volunteers and relationships between brothers and sisters
“We’ve taken the best of the best therapy modalities for parenting therapy and created self-guided modules and live classes for today’s parents,” said Liz Colizza, LPC and Clinical Content Manager at Lasting of Talkspace. “We wanted to create a safe space for parents to feel seen and heard on their parenting journey and offer them digestible and practical guidance. With that in mind, Lasting is a blend of attachment-based therapy, relationship therapy object, cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy.
In an effort to make therapy accessible to everyone, The Guide to Sustainable Parenting is free to download from the Apple App Store Where Google Play Store with its full content library available for a monthly subscription (from $29.99/month).
Acquired in November 2020, Talkspace’s Lasting established Talkspace’s successful entry into personalized and self-guided applications. Lasting’s Parenting Guide adds to Lasting’s existing suite of market-leading self-guided services for couples therapy and individual therapy.
