Producer, Games and Websites – Cynopsis Media

Fred Rogers Productions is looking for a Producer, Games and Websites to lead the development of interactive content for Donkey Hodie, a preschool series for PBS KIDS. This is a full time position with benefits.

Under the direction of the Creative Director, the Producer, Games and Websites will produce interactive content for children across multiple platforms, including websites, digital games and apps. This content is an opportunity for children to “act out the show” and extend the learning and storytelling experience of the TV series.

Candidates for this position should have a strong background in creating interactive digital games and websites, as well as a passion for creating thoughtful, fun, fairness-focused and accessible interactive content for young children. Strong writing and production management skills are required. Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning principles preferred. Must possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Working from FRP’s Pittsburgh office is strongly preferred, but not required. Moving assistance will be provided if required.

This person must be willing to follow guidelines established by the CDC and company policies to prevent and limit exposure to COVID-19. FRP has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy, subject to exemptions.


Creative development and collaboration

  • Develop game ideas that are on brand and achieve the series mission.
  • Collaborate with and manage game studios, review and provide feedback on all game development materials.
  • With the support of the digital production assistant, share materials for review with CCO, PBS KIDS, educational advisors and TV production colleagues, and collect/implement feedback.
  • Participate in – or lead – testing of games, applications, etc., and other research opportunities.
  • Work with TV production partners to record voiceovers and photograph assets for games and websites.
  • As needed, contribute or write digital plans for FRP projects in development.

Project management

  • Manage schedules and workflows to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Manage series website maintenance and work with developers to update as needed.
  • Create and maintain a schedule of content launches and other key dates.

Strategic planning and analysis

  • Oversee the digital production assistant in generating and analyzing Google Analytics reports and other metrics.
  • Look for new platforms and opportunities.
  • If necessary, brainstorm with the marketing team on social media promotions.
  • Identify external content creators – programmers, designers, etc. – to participate in the development of interactive content.
  • Advise on trends in digital culture, especially as they relate to children and families.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Represent FRP at industry events and conferences, as an attendee, panelist or speaker.
  • As required, provide support for the maintenance of websites/games from other series.
