Sangareddy: Every June, parents worried about school fees, school books and notebooks for which parents will have to spend thousands of rupees. Taking into account the difficulties of these parents, the MP for Patancheru Gudem Mahipal Reddy decided to distribute all the notebooks and slates free of charge to the students of the government. After consultation with Mandal education officials and principals of some schools in Patancheru Assembly Constituency, the MP for Patancheru prepared a set for each class. Since then, there were more than 33,000 students studying in 108 secondary and primary schools in all public schools in Patancheru Assembly Constituency. Mahipal Reddy had bought 2.30 lakh notebooks by spending more than one crore. Since there were 6,500 children admitted to Anganwadis in the constituency, he had specially designed a slate on which were written the alphabets and numbers. Apart from these, he will also distribute the notebooks to three undergraduate government students and one graduate and PG student. The MP spent Rs one crore out of his own pocket for the free distribution of notes.

To kick off the distribution of grades to students, the MP invited Finance Minister T Harish Rao. The minister will distribute the notebooks to students of Zill Parishad High School, Junior College and Degree College in Patancheru on Monday. Simultaneously, elected officials and civil servants will distribute the notebooks to the students the same day. Mandal Education Officer (MEO) PP Rathod thanked the MP for his rare gesture. He praised the MPP for developing such a wonderful program to support public school students. In fact, the MOE has stated that Mahipal Reddy is the only MP in the entire state to distribute the notebooks by spending a whopping Rs 1 crore.
