Empired launches new app to reduce human error and improve safety

Empired announced the launch of the Empired User Secure Score app. As the latest addition to the corporate cybersecurity toolkit for organizations, it is designed to help individuals contribute to the security of the organization in which they work.

The Empired User Secure Score works alongside Microsoft teams, combining the cybersecurity experience of both companies, to give organizations a holistic view of their team’s level of security compliance.

Empired’s User Safety Score provides real-time views of individual user safety behaviors, including scores, rankings, and suggestions for improvement.

According to the company, this shifts cybersecurity awareness beyond education theory and empowers organizations and individuals to take control with real behavior change across the spectrum of operations, including roles, environments and geographic areas.

The way it works is for Empired User Secure Score to query the Microsoft graph and other application programming interfaces (APIs) and then calculate a user security score for a set of security metrics and controls.

The individual score is then presented to the user in Teams along with their team’s average score and the organization’s average score.

The app also provides the user with a list of checks they can implement to increase their score and step-by-step instructions on how to add them to improve their personal safety score.

While most organizations invest heavily in their cybersecurity in terms of training, software, and hardware to keep their digital assets safe, the reality is that every member of an organization can contribute to the overall security posture, and not just dedicated cybersecurity experts, the company says.

Empired Group Managing Director, Modern and Digital Work, Darren Christophersen, said: “The question for organizations should not be how to prevent hackers from entering staff devices, but how to train them. staff to treat their devices as if they were the keys to the company and securely. And the answer isn’t just more education or training.

“While training can be delivered successfully, there is no way of knowing if it is understood and acted upon, or if the risk profile is decreasing. “

Christophersen says, “Empired manages the Empired User Secure Score app as a service, implemented in a dedicated Microsoft Azure subscription in the data center of the organization’s choice.

“As part of the service, Empired will continually add new metrics and manage the underlying data structure.

“The organization can easily access their snapshot at any time with Empired at their fingertips to recommend actions to be taken to ensure incomplete tasks are implemented. “

Christophersen concludes, “Empired will also provide up-to-date information on new threats and strategies to apply within this easy-to-use and adaptable framework.

“By implementing the Empired User Secure Score alongside Microsoft Teams, individuals and organizations can be made aware of the impact their actions can have on preventing malicious attacks. “
