Columbia launches Cultural Trail app

Visitors and locals can now connect more with the community by learning about its importance at their own pace.

Visit Columbia announced the launch of the new Columbia Cultural Trail app.

The self-guided smartphone tour takes users through downtown Columbia and the Columbia Arts District to explore the art, culture, and history of the community.

“This new walking trail was designed to improve connectivity between the established downtown core and the Arts District of Columbia and to share Columbia’s culturally significant and appealing points of interest with visitors as well as locals,” said Kellye Murphy, Director of Tourism and Marketing for Columbia at a press release.

The tour highlights a variety of murals, cultural landmarks, historical landmarks, concert halls, and other points of interest.

The trail is approximately 3.5 miles round trip with an average walking time of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Some may prefer to drive the tour and park at certain points of interest for further exploration.

The design of the app is meant to be user friendly, fresh and modern making it easy to use and navigate.

“As you walk through downtown Columbia and the Columbia Arts District, you’ll see colorful murals, historical landmarks and music venues,” said Jacey Bomar, communications coordinator and public information manager for Columbia in a press release. “The app lets you explore and learn about the community, while letting you experience Columbia’s arts and culture hand-in-hand.”

The Columbia Cultural Trail app is available for free and can be found on Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Search “Visit Columbia, TN” on a device’s app store and start exploring the arts, music, culture, and history of Columbia.
